Application Process Details
Timeline:
We only have 30 spots in our ’25-’26 Workshop U Cohort. The earlier you apply, the higher your chances of grabbing one of these select spots.
Cost:
100% FREE. All students who are accepted receive full scholarships.
What does the application process look like?
Step 1. Complete the online application. The application consists of 5 short-answer writing prompts (under 200 words apiece).
Step 2. A staff member will reach out to you to schedule a 15-min phone interview. We’ll ask you a couple of questions that help us learn more about where you’re at and what you are seeking from the program. And, we’ll leave plenty of time for your questions for us so you can understand if WU is the right fit.
Step 3. We'll get back to you within two weeks about your admission to the program.

From September 2025 through May 2026 I can commit to being in-person at the West Chester University Center City campus (701 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19139) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am-12:30pm

Logistics:

Students can earn up to 15 (transferable) college credits upon completion of the program.

Are wanting to find a direction in life, and a community to figure it out with.
Have a creative vision of where you’re going but are running up against barriers that get in the way.
Are curious about college but wanting to test out what that looks like – without the financial risk.

Know you need to further your learning but don't see how traditional college will get you there.
​Feel like traditional college or job training is too limiting and want to find other options.
Are looking for structure, routine, and support.
… are just ‘plain stuck’! We all get stuck sometimes. If that’s where you are, WU may be for you.
